Rolling Off the Deep End:

Are We All Loosing Our Marbles, or Is It Just Me??

Am I the Only One Who Thinks the World Collectively Is Losing Its Marbles?

Greetings, fellow inhabitants of this spinning blue orb we call Earth! As I sit here pondering life's most pressing questions (like why socks disappear in the laundry and whether cats are secretly plotting world domination), a thought has been gnawing at the corners of my mind: "Am I the only one who thinks the world collectively is losing its marbles?"

Now, before you start chucking your collection of antique marbles at me, hear me out. I'm not talking about the actual physical marbles, although I do believe there's a black hole somewhere in every household that devours them. No, I'm talking about our collective grip on sanity, reason, and the ability to distinguish between reality and a Netflix binge.

The Great Toilet Paper Crisis of 2020

Let's start with Exhibit A: The Great Toilet Paper Crisis of 2020. Remember when the mere mention of a global pandemic sent people into a frenzied state of panic-buying? Suddenly, toilet paper became more valuable than gold, and the shelves were as barren as a desert. I half-expected to see a new reality show called "Survivor: Quarantine Edition," where contestants compete for the last roll of Charmin.

The Rise of "Influencers"

Then there's the curious case of the "influencers." Now, don't get me wrong, some influencers use their platform for good, spreading positivity, knowledge, and the occasional cat video. But there's a subset of influencers whose sole purpose seems to be... well, I'm not quite sure. Between avocado toast selfies, sponsored content for detox teas, and questionable fashion choices that look like they were pulled straight from a time-traveling wardrobe malfunction, it's hard to keep up.

The Mystery of the Missing Socks

Let's not forget the unsolved mysteries that plague us all, like the enigma of the missing socks. Where do they go? Is there a parallel universe where single socks lead fulfilling lives, free from the tyranny of their matching pairs? Or do they simply vanish into the abyss of the laundry machine, never to be seen again?

Conspiracy Theories Galore

And then there are the conspiracy theories. From flat Earthers to lizard people and everything in between, it seems like everyone's got a theory these days. I'm starting to think that the real conspiracy is that conspiracy theories are being created by the conspiracy theorists to keep us all distracted from the fact that we're collectively losing our marbles.

The Bottom Line

So, am I the only one who thinks the world collectively is losing its marbles? Probably not. But here's the good news: Even if we are, we're all in this marble-losing journey together. So let's embrace the chaos, laugh at the absurdity, and maybe, just maybe, find a way to keep our marbles from rolling too far away.

In the meantime, if anyone finds my missing socks or has a spare roll of toilet paper from 2020 to spare, please let me know. Until then, keep calm, carry on, and don't lose your marbles—or if you do, make sure to find some really cool ones to replace them. ~RS

Divers recovered the bodies of two migrant workers who were filling in potholes on Baltimore's Key Bridge Tuesday when it collapsed, with four others still missing. The two were found inside a truck 25 feet beneath the water's surface.
